History

Villa Ormaneto was originally a hunting lodge, built in the first half of 1300 for the Scaliger family. Cangrande della Scala, Lord of Verona and leader of the Ghibelline faction, assigned the lodge to Zonta Ormaneto, his General Prefect of the Hunt, after whom the Villa is named.

Completely surrounded by greenery, with towering centuries-old trees, Villa Ormaneto is a perfect example of Venetian villa.

The Family

Villa Ormaneto is owned by the De Santi Fabricci family since 2002. A dream come true: “For our family, being part of the history of Villa Ormaneto means respecting its past and sharing its present with all of you who want to be part of it in some way.”. Today, Villa Ormaneto is managed by Camilla De Santi.

Church

The church, adjacent to the Villa, is dedicated to San Michele Arcangelo, patron saint of agriculture, legality and law enforcement. This 18th-century building has harmonious proportions and still retains its distinctive, Baroque architectural features. It is possible to celebrate religious services inside the chapel.

Secular park

Nature is protagonist in Villa Ormaneto, where guests will be able to enjoy tranquility and silence in its secular park of 10,000 square meters, only interrupted by the chirping of birds. Green fields, centuries-old trees, and Caucasian wingnuts will take the guests in a natural paradise, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the stress of everyday life.

VI•OR Restaurant

VI•OR is the restaurant of Villa Ormaneto, a modern trattoria where tradition is not seen with nostalgia but as continuous inspiration for the future. We delved into classic Venetian recipes and brought them to the present by creating modern and light dishes of traditional Veronese cuisine. We have also worked on the most popular local ingredients, finding new and contemporary ways of interpreting them.

The restaurant is open every day, on reservation, except Sunday evening and Monday.

The Horses

They are a centerpiece, a ceramic decoration, an unexpected detail: the most attentive will notice that in Villa Ormaneto there is a fantastic stable of many small horses that animate the spaces of the villa. Each horse has its own story and tells a little bit about us too. The dream is to be able, one day, to house a real stable in the park.
